Time to visit our magnificent Yuba River, bask on a hot granite rock and cool off in the clear water, or take a kayak lesson on Scotts Flat Lake, maybe a bike ride in the Tahoe National Forest.

Dinner and drinks on a patio or spend a great day wine tasting with friends. In addition to our major seasonal events numerous music, art and live theater performances happen all year.

June: Nevada City Bike Classic.

July: 4th of July Parade & Celebration. The parade alternates each year between Grass Valley and Nevada City. Fireworks display at the beautiful Nevada County Fairgrounds. Summer Nights in Nevada City and the Thursday Night Market in Grass Valley. Experience music from around the globe and the California WorldFest and there’s nothing like a story well told at the Sierra Storyteller’s Festival. And the Sierra Jazz Society sponsors Jazz Camp for all ages.

August: The Nevada County Fair takes place in the most beautiful fairground in California.
